Inspiration for Documentary

A note from the founder of WarriorJourney™, Mark Green

I believe we have a serious issue with purpose in transition from military to civilian life. So much so, I trademarked that very mission to help those who struggle as well as those who want to reach their highest potential. The problem with using the word Veteran is it immediately makes you think every Veteran is the same.

Our goal in this cross country venture is to prove that every individual is different in their own ways and service and sacrifices of all kinds affect servicemembers and family in many ways. We always hear about the negative affects on Veterans but we rarely hear about the successful Veterans. The purpose of our documentary is to capture veterans of all kinds to show America can see that we are all different. This goes without saying that there are extreme effects on people who serve and we are aware that.

As a 34 year veteran of the Armed Forces, I am very well in tune with those affects and dealt with my own transition as well returning from deployment.. This is why this tour is so important. To show that yes, more work is needed to increase hope and also that no two veterans are the same but with the right words, the right people and the willingness to grow, we can collectively make a difference for any and all veterans willing to have an open mind and an open heart.

On this tour, we are capturing a cross section of all types of veterans from any period of service to the nation. Trying to cover someone from every war, every social class, and any story they want to share. This gives people a better understanding of what kinds of lives veterans live and the challenges and successes they have had as well as what they experienced. To show the American people that freedom and living in the US should never be taken for granted.
