The Winds of Life

In 2019, one of the most powerful hurricanes in history hit the Bahamas with up to or exceeding 185 mile per hour winds. Not much can survive in those conditions. The trees were snapped like toothpicks, the ocean surge flooded the land and homes and the wind took its toll on the infrastructure was estimated to be at or more than 3.4 billion dollars. I know and are friends with the man who survived the storm who lived in this home.
Life can bring storms too. Sometimes catastrophic. Divorce, bankruptcy, ruin of all kinds and we search for our footing. The truth is some storms we bring on ourselves and some came without warning. The impacts can be small or large. So what do you do after? You learn to cope as best you can and figure out how to replace, heal or get back to what was once what you knew. In some cases the renewal becomes better than the old way or old self. And for the rest, we must
I cannot count the number of times that I have experienced storms in my life. Too many to count. Each time, something different came at me sometimes minor and sometimes it would hit like a hurricane. I learned to pull back and assess but it did not mean I did not feel the impacts. I believe that our character is built not just through success but also through adversity.
Without the storms in my life, I would not be the person I am. Grateful for every breath, every friend, every event and every opportunity given to me by god. I am truly at a point where I help others uncover or understand that their greatness is because of the storms they have endured themselves and that it has made them into a better version of themselves.
The strenght I choose to share and draw from is from transitions. Life transitions to me do not just show up. They are also a product of us taking that event and using our lessons learned to build the future we desire. I have not met one person in my life who is fully comfortable in every area of their life. Transition is an ongoing dash that is never ending but change in employment, relationships or other big decision stuff has impacts that some smaller stuff does not.
"The storms will come and go, it is what you do when the wind stops that defines you"

This is what our upcoming non-profit will be in the business of helping others build transition blueprints for their futures in key areas that matter. If you love what you do, you will do more of it. I love what I do and I know that the tools available through my own research, collaborations, life experience and education can make a small or large result based on that persons willingness to listen, apply and put a little work into themselves. Warrior Journey will be one of the top Veteran Transition non-profits in the country in 3-5 years.
